If you are looking to capture your next live performance on CD and you want something that sounds great and is properly mixed & mastered, then you have come to the right place. You can use your live recording on your website, hand out to club owners to book gigs, solicit record labels / music publishers and sell or give away your CD to your fans.
How it Works
We bring all the necessary equipment that allows us to record up to 16 channels simultaneously into a digital audio recording software program.
Samples
The two samples below are the "exact" same performance recorded with two different recording tools. Sample 2 was mixed and mastered back at our music studio.
Live Multi-Track Recording
Sample 1 - Room Recording
This was recorded on a typical stereo field recorder. The recorder was placed 30-40 ft away from the stage dead center in the room. It’s a very similar recording you would get with a couple of room mics.
Sample 2 - Multi-Track Recording
This is the sample #1 recording that has been professionally mixed and mastered at our studio. Notice that the volume has been brought up to the proper level and it is a lot more full sounding with a tight low end and bight top end. This type of recording is recommended if you plan to sell your CD or if you are trying to grab the attention of music publishers and/or record labels. This sample is the type of quality you can expect when choosing us to record your next show.
This gives us 'precise' control over mic placement & recording levels which is essential to achieving a great live recording and the ability to have more editing options in the future. We have 15 years of experience running live sound for bands and you can be assured that the mix both on stage and in the club will be great.
Depending on the original recording circumstances, we can even overdub or re-record certain parts of a performance at a later date in our studio. This is a perfect option if you happen to clink out a few funky back up harmonies or flub a note or two on guitar during the show. As for drums though, they are not possible to re-record or overdub and make it fit the original mix.
If you're planning to sell your CD to fans at gigs or trying to promote your band to record labels, music publishers etc, the cost and time it takes to record and mix a project can become very costly in a traditional studio setting. When you think about it, a live recording with post editing and production can be MUCH less expensive than going in the studio exclusively to record a whole album. Simply because we record the whole band live then brought it back for some polishing.
If we use your PA system and /or your sound engineer, depending on the mixer and mic's being used to capture the instruments, we may very well be able to achieve a great recording at a cost as low as $62.00 per band member in a four piece band!!.
1 set up to 60 min - $450
2 sets up to 120 Min - $525
3 sets or up to 3 hrs - $650
Additional Mixing or Overdubs
$40.00 per hour

As good as sample 3 sounds, there were some limitations such as having all the vocals on one track so we could not isolate each vocal track during the mixing process. This is why we recommend having us run your sound for the show you plan on having us record. We will make sure that every instrument, including the vocals tracks are separated so we have total control during the mixing process.
